Peter Kyncl  and Guenther Schaller head up an international architectural firm with offices in Zurich (Switzerland),  Stuttgart (Germany). The firm was founded in 1975; its present constellation was established in 2005.

Peter Kyncl and Guenther Schaller have worked across the entire range of public and private buildings: large residential developments, highly exclusive commissions, council housing, family homes, commercial centres and office buildings, projects for public clients such as schools and facilities for sports, recreation, culture and entertainment, indoor arenas, swimming pools and museums, research facilities, hotels, multipurpose developments, shopping malls, shop and landscape designs and infrastructure facilities. Creating genuinely sustainable living environments by viewing a project in its entirety is one of the most important goals of the practice.

In keeping with this philosophy, the practice has a highly qualified international staff, well experienced in all fields of architecture. Beside German and English, a wide range of other languages are spoken at the offices. In addition, the office has formed several strategic partnerships with architectural and engineering firms, at home as well as abroad. To ensure that the professional skills and expertise always represent the state of the art, the firm and its staff are involved in ongoing further training in architecture as well as science and research.


Peter Kyncl
Peter Kyncl founded his architectural practice in 1975 in Zurich. In more than 40 years under his guidance, the office has planned and realized hundreds of new construction and reconstruction projects in Switzerland and abroad, including residential buildings and private houses, hotels and guesthouses, leisure and sports facilities, commercial and retail developments, etc. The company’s main focus is on residential buildings, conversions of historic buildings and the repurposing of industrial areas. Peter Kyncl has considerable experience in real estate consulting, property analysis and evaluation. The company is one of the most experienced and soundly established architectural and general planning firms in the real estate market in the region of Zurich.
Günther Schaller
From 1991 to 1996, Guenther Schaller was an architect and project partner with Behnisch and Partner Stuttgart, and from 1996 to 2005, a partner with Behnisch, Behnisch and Partner Stuttgart Los Angeles, where he headed up the bureau together with Stefan Behnisch. During that time, under the leadership of Guenther Schaller a wide range of distinguished buildings were designed and realized. He has held teaching positions at several architectural schools and universities, including the University of Stuttgart/Germany as a lecturer and the University of Texas/Austin USA as a visiting Professor. At the University of Darmstadt/Germany, he held the “Chair for Design and Building Technologies” for two years as Professor.
Guenther Schaller is a member of the Chamber of Architects Baden-Württemberg, the German Federation of Architects (BDA Bund Deutscher Architekten ) and the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).
